We warmly welcome you as a patient to our practice.
Wednesday 9.00am to 3.30 pm.
Appointments can be arranged outside of these hours upon request. On other days Dr Cann conducts aviation medicals at Essendon airport, and nursing home visits.
After hours care:
After hours medical care is provided by the National Home Doctor Service tel. 137425. Appointments can be made from 4 pm weekdays, 12 pm Saturday’s and all day on Sunday’s and public holidays. Consultations are bulk billed by the National home doctor service. A report will be sent back to the Wilks Street Medical Practice to ensure continuity of care and appropriate follow-up.
Excellent after hours care can also be obtained at the Eastern Suburbs GP After hours Clinic, 36 Wellington Rd Box Hill Vic, for those who can drive there or be driven. Tel 98999980

Wilks Street medical practice is a private billing practice and our fees are guided by AMA recommended rates
We offer a discounted fee for pensioners , health care card holders and full time students. Homeless people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are bulk–billed.
Bulk billing can be offered to others in the event of genuine financial hardship at the discretion of the doctor. Please discuss if you have need of this.
Standard consultation (5-20 minutes) $85, concession $70
Long consultation (20-40 minutes) $150, concession $110
Extra long consultation (40-60 minutes) $200, concession $150
Counselling ( focused psychological strategies) 40-60 minutes, $200, concession $150
There will be an additional modest cost for dressings, bandages and suture materials when required.
Home visits can be arranged when necessary for regular patients of the practice
living within a 3 km radius
Standard length $150/concession $100, long visit (20 + mins) $200/concession
$155, extra long visit (40+mins) $300/concession $170
If your bank account details are registered with Medicare you will receive an on the spot reimbursement.
Follow up of pathology results:
We ask that patients attend for a follow- up consultation to discuss pathology,
imaging and other test results, in order to ensure that each and every result is
followed up appropriately.

diverted to Dr Cann directly when the practice is closed.

in receiving a response so please do not use email for urgent matters. You can make

Feedback and complaints can be made directly to the practice or to the Health

This practice is bound by the Federal Privacy Act (1988) and National Privacy
Principles, and also complies with the Victorian Health Records Act (2001). A copy
The practice is closed during school holiday periods. Dr Cann is available to regular
patients of the practice by phone to offer advice and she may arrange a consultation
when deemed necessary and unable to wait until after the holiday period. If she is
away and unavailable, a suitable other General practitioner will be available.
