Dr Rachel Cann obtained her Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Melbourne in 1993.

She completed a Diploma of Child Health (DCH) from the Royal College of Physicians in 1997.

She became an accredited Fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in the year 2000.

Rachel acquired a Diploma of Clinical Hypnosis from the Australian College of Medical Hypnosis and is an authorised focused psychological strategies provider.

She is a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) and holds an Australian Certificate of Civil Aviation Medicine. She works for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia (CASA) as well as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States of America.

She is qualified as a Medical Review Officer (MRO) from the Australasian Medical Review Officers Association.

Dr Cann holds a few memberships as well which include membership of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, the Aerospace Medical Association, the Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine and the Australasian Medical Review Officers Association.

Rachel worked extensively throughout her career, she worked in rural medicine in Timboon and Dimboola. She spent a short time during the summer in Guernsey and the Channel Islands. She worked for 6 months in the department of Paediatrics in Sunderland and North East England. She worked for many years as a general practitioner in Toorak, East Keilor and North Caulfield. She currently practices at Blue Sky Aviation Medicals, in the vicinity of Essendon Airport, where she works as a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) for CASA and an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) the FAA.

Dr Rachel Cann speaks English and can also communicate in French and German, with greater proficiency in French.
